Alex Ovi Ovechkin is widely recognized as one of the greatest goal scorers ever. He is second to only Wayne Gretzky in all-time scoring and holds the most power play goals away game goals and most goals with the same team in NHL history.

In his 2015-16 campaign with the Washington Capitals Ovechkin broke the record for most goals scored by a Russian hockey player. That same season he also became the first Russian to score 500 career goals and recorded his seventh 50-goal season.

Ovechkin holds several trophies including the Calder Memorial Trophy Hart Memorial Trophy (3x) the Lester B. Pearson Award (3x) and Conn Smythe Trophy. Alexander Ovechkin won his first Stanley Cup in 2018.
